June Sales Figures Released for BMW

BMW recently released information on their June sales figures. They sold a total of 28,855 units during the month, bringing their mid-year sales total to 153,436 units! Keep reading for more information on which vehicles sold especially well this month.

The 2016 BMW 2 Series increased its sales by a whopping 139.4 percent! This vehicle comes in two trim levels: the 228i and the M235i, as well as two body styles: coupe or convertible. Some of the standard features on the base 228i include automatic headlights, automatic wipers, automatic dual-zone climate control, and a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters on automatic-transmission models. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission or an optional six-speed manual transmission. This combo produces 240 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard but consumers can upgrade to all-wheel drive if they would like to. The 2016 BMW 2 Series earned a top rating of “good” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the small-overlap frontal-offset, moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side impact, and roof-strength tests.

"The mid-point to the year always brings some uncertainly about what may be ahead in the second half, so I'm very pleased to see several of our key models showing strong results in June," said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. "The BMW X1 and BMW X3 are indicative of the still growing trend toward Sports Activity Vehicles, but the numbers also show that great cars like the BMW 7 Series and BMW 2 Series have a strong appeal and following."
