This isn't the first device and app integration we've seen. BMW originally introduced iOS integration in 2011 and now have expanded their horizons by adding Android accessibility. Drivers can now safely access iHeartRadio, Spotify, and Pandora on their Android device through their iDrive controller and screen while driving. All drivers have to do is download the BMW Connected app from Google Play and connect their phone through Bluetooth. Then they can change stations, curate their favorites, and switch between apps.

BMW is committed to the safety of their drivers and has worked tirelessly on creating vehicles and technology that keep everyone safe. This is part of that effort. BMW certifies these apps are safe for in car use. Devices with BMW Connected App can use Bluetooth, a USB socket or snap-in adapter.

BMW hosted demonstrations of the Android integration at the 2016 New York Auto Show today and yesterday.
